The Biggest Swing

Fifi wants to try the big-kid swings, but they look so tall. With Momo beside her, she finds a little courage.

"Come on, Fifi! Higher!" Mom called from the baby swings. But Fifi was staring at the big-kid swings, her feet dangling high above the ground.

Momo tilted his head. "Those swings look so tall, Fifi. What if you slip off?" Fifi bit her lip. "But I want to try. Can you push me, Mama? Just a little."

Her mom helped her onto the smooth seat. Fifi's hands felt sweaty. "Ready?" Mom asked, giving a tiny push.

Fifi gasped, then giggled as she glided forward. Momo scampered beside her, ears flopping. "You're flying! Look at you!" he barked, and Fifi laughed so hard her tummy shook.

Back and forth, higher and higher, Fifi pumped her legs. The wind tickled her cheeks. "I'm doing it, Momo! I'm swinging!"

She didn't want to stop, but finally she let the swing slow down. She hopped off and hugged Momo, her heart still dancing. The big-kid swing swayed gently behind her, waiting for next time.
