The Brave Honey Stick
When Fifi loses Grandma at the busy market, she has to find the courage to ask for help.
Fifi held Grandma’s hand at the sunny market. "Look at the kite tails, Momo!" she said, and let go to touch the bright ribbons. When she turned around, Grandma was not there. Her heart thumped.
Momo’s little ears drooped. "Fifi, where is Grandma? Are we lost?" Fifi took a shaky breath. She remembered what Grandma always said.
Fifi saw a woman in a yellow apron at a honey stall. She walked over, her knees feeling like jelly. "Excuse me, I lost my grandma, " she said. The woman bent down and smiled. "I’ll help you, sweetie."
Momo’s tail gave a happy flick. "You were so brave, Fifi!" he whispered. The woman handed Fifi a honey stick to hold. It felt warm and sticky in her hand.
In just a moment, Grandma rushed through the crowd. She scooped Fifi into a big hug. "I was right here, sweetheart. You did the right thing, " Grandma said. Fifi felt a brave little glow inside.
On the way home, Fifi and Momo shared the honey stick. The golden honey dripped in the sun. Fifi held Grandma’s hand tight, never letting go until they reached the porch.
