Blueberries and Bravery
Fifi accidentally spills blueberries at the market and must find the courage to tell the truth.
At the market, Fifi and Momo saw a table piled with fruit. Fifi reached for an apple, but her elbow knocked over a basket of blueberries.
Blueberries scattered on the ground. Momo’s ears drooped. “Oh no! What will we do?” he whispered. Fifi’s cheeks felt very hot.
Fifi wanted to hide, but she saw the shopkeeper wiping the counter. She took a shaky breath and walked to him. “I bumped your berries, ” she said quietly.
The shopkeeper had a kind face and a big white apron. Momo poked his head out from behind Fifi and added, “We can help pick them up!” The man chuckled.
He knelt down. “Thank you for telling the truth. Accidents happen.” He gave Fifi some clean berries on a napkin. “Share with your friend.”
Fifi sat on a bench with Momo and they ate the berries. Juice stained Momo’s whiskers purple, and Fifi giggled as she licked her fingers.
