The Rolling Oranges
Fifi is busy at the market with her lollipop when an old lady drops her oranges. Will she stop to help?
Fifi held her lollipop tight as she followed Mom through the busy market. Mom was picking apples. Fifi saw an old lady with white hair trying to put oranges into her bag. The bag tipped, and oranges bounced everywhere.
Momo's ears perked up. "Look at all the rolling oranges, " he said. "Should we help her, Fifi?"
Fifi looked at her lollipop, then back at the oranges. She gave the lollipop to Mom for safekeeping and hurried over. "I can help!" she called. She chased an orange under a fruit cart and crawled to reach it.
Momo tried to stop another orange but bumped into a stack of bananas. The bananas wobbled, and a fruit seller laughed and caught them just in time. Fifi giggled and scooped up the last orange.
The old lady smiled, her eyes crinkling. "Thank you, dear. That was very kind." Fifi stood up, dusting off her knees. Momo wagged his tail. Fifi fetched her lollipop and they walked back to Mom.
As they left the market, Fifi looked back. The old lady gave a little wave and popped an orange slice into her mouth. The sweet smell followed them all the way home.
