The Freezer Dance
Fifi and Momo make popsicles, but waiting for them to freeze is hard! A silly dance helps the time fly by.
"Mom, can we make popsicles?" Fifi held up the bright plastic molds. Mom smiled. "Yes, but you'll have to wait till they freeze."
Momo tilted his head. "Wait? Like, wait wait?" he asked. Fifi sighed. "I want them now!"
Fifi peeked in the freezer every five minutes. "Not yet, " Mom said. Momo whispered, "Maybe if we stand close, they'll freeze faster." They pressed their noses to the freezer door.
That's when Momo started tapping his paws. Tap-tap-tap. Fifi joined with a wiggle. Suddenly, the freezer hummed loudly. "It's singing!" Momo gasped. They laughed and danced a freezer dance until they forgot about the popsicles.
Hours later, Mom called, "They're ready!" Fifi and Momo raced to the kitchen. Momo's tail wagged as Mom handed them each a popsicle.
Outside on the step, they sat together. Fifi licked her grape pop and watched the juice drip. Momo's tongue was already blue. "Best popsicle ever, " Fifi said, and the sun painted their faces gold.
